About This Site
What This Site Is
This site is an independent aggregator that explains Florida's TLSAE and DETS driver education requirement and compares FLHSMV-listed or registry-confirmed providers; it does not teach, deliver, or sell either course itself. We publish the requirement in plain language, keep a provider comparison current, and link out to providers so a reader can enroll directly with them.
What This Site Is Not
This site is not the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), is not a government agency, and does not issue the completion certificate, learner permit, or license this site describes. This site is not Aceable, DriversEd.com, or any of the other providers listed on /approved-providers/; we do not operate a course, and enrolling through one of our links means enrolling directly with that provider under that provider's own terms.
This site earns a commission on the Aceable and DriversEd.com links. See /affiliate-disclosure/ for the full statement; we do not hide this, and it does not change the requirement information this site publishes.
Who Verifies the Content on This Site
Every regulator fact on this site - hours, fees, statutes, and which providers are FLHSMV-listed or registry-confirmed - is checked against this project's sourced research corpus (words/the_acs), against Florida's own published statute text, or against the FLHSMV website directly, before it is published. Facts that cannot be sourced this way carry a VERIFY tag in the underlying draft and are not presented as confirmed.
How Often This Site Is Reviewed
Every page on this site carries a "last verified" and "next review" date in its own metadata, and the default review cycle is every six months unless a specific regulator rule or fee schedule changes sooner, in which case the affected page is re-checked immediately and the dates are updated. The August 1, 2025 DETS rule change is exactly the kind of update that would trigger an off-cycle recheck if new detail surfaced.
Contact
This site does not yet operate a staffed support inbox; for questions about a specific course or enrollment, contact the provider you enrolled with directly, or contact FLHSMV for questions about the state requirement itself.
